Fix Your Christmas Tree


Came across this chart that shows the lower back muscle perfectly. Often called the Christmas tree by the hardcore fitness enthusiast this muscle is very important to workout.

Let’s break it down.


Muscles: Erector spinae, Thoracolumbar fascia


  • HyperextensionsSlightly flex your lower back at the top of the movement — don’t hyperextend it, as this may cause injury.
  • Good MorningsUse light weight and emphasize precise control over the weight. Keep your head up and eyes looking forward.
  • Straight-Leg DeadliftsLet the weight hang naturally in front of your body, as though it’s a pendulum. Keep your head up and eyes looking forward.
